BankID on card consists of a BankID which is stored on a smart card, i.e. a plastic card like a credit card which contains an electronic chip. Depending on which bank that has issued the card it may, for example, be a debit card or a pure BankID card. All cards which contain a BankID have the BankID logotype printed on the card. For using BankID on card you also need to have a card reader which is connected with a cable to your computer. Your bank will provide you with both card and card reader.
There are two different types of card readers - with or without PIN pad. The type of card reader you get depends on which bank you have.
For your BankID on card you will also get a PIN which is a numerical combination which you enter when you use your BankID. Depending on which type of card reader you have, you enter your PIN on the computer's keyboard or on the card reader's PIN pad.
Depending on your bank , you may be able to change your PIN and/or unblock your PIN if it has been blocked due to too many incorrect input attempts. For some cards this is not possible and you will then have to order a new card from your bank. If you have a card for which the PIN can be unblocked, then you will also have received an unblock code, also referred to as PUK.
If you have a card which permits PIN management, you should click on the button Manage ID in the BankID Security Application and then on the button . The options below Choose Activity which are available can be performed with the current card.
